Brit Floyd’s Animals 50 World Tour is built around Pink Floyd’s most politically charged record — the 1977 album loosely inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm, organized around themes of power, inequality, and social division, and never quite as celebrated as Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall, despite being just as uncompromising. The tour reaches the Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater in Syracuse on Tuesday, March 16.
About the Show
The Animals 50 production, organized by Palladium Entertainment, runs nearly three hours, performing highlights from Animals — “Dogs,” “Pigs (Three Different Ones),” “Sheep” — alongside Pink Floyd catalog staples: “Time,” “Money,” “Shine On You Crazy Diamond,” “Comfortably Numb,” and “Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2.” Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason offered a frame for the record worth holding: “The sociology of it, [Animals] was made at the same time that punk was kicking off.” The staging incorporates lasers, pyrotechnics, inflatables, and visual effects that trace the theatrical ambitions of the original Pink Floyd live show.
Founded in Liverpool in 2011 by musical director and guitarist Damian Darlington, Brit Floyd has logged more than 1,600 shows globally, including the Royal Albert Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Radio City Music Hall. Rolling Stone has called the group “The World’s Premier Pink Floyd Experience.” The current ensemble includes founding members Ian Cattell (bass, vocals) and Rob Stringer (keyboards) alongside additional guitarists, dual drummers, a multi-instrumentalist, and five backing vocalists. Past collaborators drawn from Pink Floyd’s own orbit include bassist Guy Pratt, saxophonist Scott Page, and producer Alan Parsons.
The 2027 run follows Brit Floyd’s 123-date 2026 tour, “The Moon, The Wall and Beyond,” which concentrated on Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall. The Animals 50 leg pivots to the thornier end of the catalog, with the first North American leg running February 23 through April 17. Syracuse is one of six New York stops; other dates in the state fall in Rochester, Schenectady, Huntington (two nights), and Buffalo.
Venue & Logistics
The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater sits at 411 Montgomery St in downtown Syracuse, a performing arts theater in the central New York region that puts Brit Floyd’s full production closer to the audience than the amphitheaters and festival stages the band also fills. Show time is 7:30 p.m.
