Fury In Few titled their current tour “How Bad Do You Want Us?” and the question lands like a challenge rather than a tagline. The Atlanta two-piece, on the road behind their debut album, plays Funk ‘n Waffles in Syracuse on Wednesday, November 11.
About the Show
Fury In Few is Brayden Gomer (vocals, guitar) and Ryan Calatayud (drums). Their debut album, How Bad Do You Want It? (In Bloom Records, July 10, 2026), packs eleven tracks into 33 minutes, pulling indie rock, hardcore punk, and alternative strains into what their management calls “unapologetically in-your-face, hard rock for Gen-Z.” The band has a motto (“Rock or Die. Be Dangerous.”) that sounds like posturing until you hear what Calatayud does rhythmically. One reviewer credited him with “mind-bending musical syncopations and juxtapositions combined with tight transitions,” while Gomer’s “galvanic vocals and unvarnished rough-hewn guitar riffs” supply the abrasion. Songs take up mental illness, escapism, unhealthy relationships, and existential struggle. The album’s roll-out included music videos for “Destroyer,” “Strike A Poser,” and “She Wasn’t Ready For The City.” Critics have reached for White Stripes comparisons: same stripped-down blueprint, different sonic address. Bands in the Bus, which tracks emerging touring acts, gave them their “#cannotbemissed” designation, only the second act in the outlet’s history to receive it. Gomer, on the band’s intent, has been direct: “Rock n roll has and will always be impactful to the culture, but we need to show the old generation the new way of doing things.”
The How Bad Do You Want Us? Tour swings through Syracuse after stops in Atlanta (Nov. 6) and Akron, Ohio (Nov. 10). Three support acts join the bill: Champagne Blondes (classic rock), Jerry Big’s World Famous Band (alternative), and CowCalls (post-hardcore). The show is presented by After Dark and Mosh Retirement.
Venue & Logistics
Funk ‘n Waffles, at 307 S Clinton St in downtown Syracuse, is built along the lines of the rooms where Fury In Few has made their reputation. Their management describes the band’s touring circuit as “sweaty mosh-pit-infested basements and dive bars,” and a bar-and-music venue in Central New York fits that profile squarely. Doors at 6:00 p.m., show at 7:00 p.m. The event is 16-and-up with valid ID; attendees under 16 may be admitted with a parent or legal guardian.
