Hotel California — billed as The Original Eagles Tribute and in continuous operation since 1986 — has spent nearly four decades making the case for the Eagles’ catalog in theaters and concert halls across North America and internationally. That kind of tenure is unusual for a tribute act; most don’t outlast the cultural moment that produced them. The band plays Kingston Grand Theatre on Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at 7:30 p.m.
About the Show
The premise is clean and Hotel California has been executing it for nearly four decades: the Eagles stopped performing long ago, leaving behind a catalog built on multiple Grammy Awards and commercial success on a scale few rock bands have matched. Someone has to play those songs in a live room, and since 1986, Hotel California has treated that responsibility with a seriousness the source material demands. The band frames its approach in terms of “incredible lead vocal similarity, intensely accurate instrumental work, and soaring harmonies,” language that sounds like marketing until you consider that the Eagles’ catalog actually requires all three, simultaneously, night after night.
The current lineup carries genuine credentials. Founding guitarist Mike Dimoulas has been with the band since its 1986 formation, meticulous by reputation in his approach to the original guitar parts. Bassist Andy Lapointe joined in 1987 and has logged thousands of shows in the role, handling songs long associated with Joe Walsh and Randy Meisner. Guitarist and vocalist Al Langlade brings over 35 years on the Canadian touring circuit, along with experience as a composer and arranger. Drummer Jay Riehl has built a parallel career that includes Gold and Platinum record credits.
The group has shared stages with The Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and REO Speedwagon over the course of their long touring history, an endorsement-by-association that reflects how firmly Hotel California has established itself in the industry. The Doobie Brothers went further, calling Hotel California “the best Eagles show ever.” That quote has traveled well beyond the show where it was said.
