Here is the thing about Frog Alley Brewing‘s Summer Concert Series: they keep booking artists who have no business playing a 500-capacity room, and Marcus King Band on June 13 is the clearest proof yet. This is the Darling Blue Pt. 2 Tour — a full band reunion, the first time Marcus King has hit the road as the Marcus King Band since 2018’s Carolina Confessions — and it is landing in Schenectady.
About Marcus King Band
Marcus King is a Greenville, South Carolina guitarist whose voice sounds decades older than he is, and whose GRAMMY-nominated 2020 solo album El Dorado put him on the national radar in a significant way. He spent the years since building a catalog — Young Blood (2022), Mood Swings (2024) — and logging miles opening for Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
But this June run is different. This is the full band, back together for Darling Blue, their first studio album together in seven years. Recorded at Capricorn Studios with GRAMMY-winning producer Eddie Spear, the record features collaborations with Billy Strings, Noah Cyrus, and Kaitlin Butts, plus co-writes from Midland and Lainey Wilson. Forbes called it “a collection of standout tunes that straddle the line between old-school rock” and country elements. It came out September 26, 2025 via American Records/Republic Records, and the Capital District crowd will have had plenty of time to live with it before King’s band rolls into town.
Worth noting: King played Albany’s Palace Theatre in 2024. Anyone who caught that show knows what this band can do in a room. Frog Alley is half that size.
Venue Info
Frog Alley Brewing sits at 108 State Street in Schenectady, right in the thick of the city. For the Summer Concert Series, doors open at 6:00 PM, with the night running until 11:00 PM. Capacity is 500 — which means this one will sell well before the weekend of the show. The venue is 21+ and requires a valid photo ID at the door; do not show up without one. Penelope Road opens.
Tickets
Tickets are on sale now. A 500-person room for a band this size does not stay available long in the Albany / Capital District — grab them before this one disappears.
