Sam Barber at Outer Harbor Live at Terminal B | September 15, 2026

By Nate Calloway · August 24, 2026

Sam Barber was a teenager from Missouri when he first found an audience, posting a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” on TikTok with his great-grandfather’s acoustic guitar. The clip spread the way those clips do, and what people heard was something critics would later reach for Hank Williams to describe: a doleful tone, plainspoken and expressive, that turned out to belong to somebody with considerably more than one song in him. He brings The American Route Tour to Outer Harbor Live at Terminal B in Buffalo on Tuesday, September 15 — a multi-platinum artist with more than 2 billion global streams and a sophomore record co-produced by Aaron Dessner that arrived this past spring.

About the Show

That debut, Restless Mind, arrived in November 2024 — a Gold-certified double LP produced by Eddie Spear that peaked at No. 48 on the Billboard 200 and carried double-platinum singles including “Straight and Narrow” and the Avery Anna collaboration “Indigo,” which reached more than 500 million global streams and 2x platinum in Canada. In 2025, Barber released Music for the Soul, featuring “Man of the Year” and the collaborative track “Better Than The Floor” with artist and producer Chance Peña. Then came Broken View, released April 3, 2026, on Atlantic Records, co-produced by Barber and Joe Becker, with additional songs co-produced by Aaron Dessner, whose production work with Taylor Swift and Noah Kahan has shown a gift for finding the emotional center of a song and leaving space around it. Hearing what that sensibility finds in Barber is one of the reasons this tour has been worth following. The American Route Tour opened in January 2026 in Oxford, Mississippi, ran through festival appearances including Stagecoach, and extended through December; the Buffalo date is part of the Seneca Casinos Outer Harbor Live Concert Series, presented by AEG Presents.

Venue & Logistics

Outer Harbor Live at Terminal B sits on the Lake Erie waterfront at 901 Fuhrmann Blvd, an outdoor event space that puts 6,000 people in the open air above Buffalo’s harbor. For an artist who came up learning country and folk songs by ear on a hand-me-down guitar, the setting has a natural fit to it. It is also a significant booking for the western New York region as the summer concert season winds toward fall. The show is Tuesday, September 15; showtime is 7:00 p.m.
