Railroad Earth at Sherman Theater | November 28, 2026

By Kira Vasquez · August 11, 2026

Railroad Earth’s annual Horn O’ Plenty has become the kind of Thanksgiving weekend tradition people plan November around. The New Jersey seven-piece has spent 25 years building exactly that kind of loyalty, playing Americana that weaves bluegrass, folk, rock, and jam into something that never sounds the same twice. This Saturday at Sherman Theater, they return to the room where the tradition lives.

About the Show

Horn O’ Plenty runs two nights this year: Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28. This listing covers the Saturday show; a two-day bundle covering both nights is also available. No support acts for the 2026 edition had been announced at time of publication.

Railroad Earth brings a full seven-piece to the stage: Todd Sheaffer on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Tim Carbone on violin and electric guitar, John Skehan on mandolin and bouzouki, Carey Harmon on drums, Andrew Ryan on bass, Matt Slocum on keys, and George Guthrie on banjo. That lineup, rooted in string instruments but built for improvisation, is what makes their live shows hard to describe to someone who hasn’t been. The band calls it “eloquent songcraft, bluegrass soul, and rock ‘n’ roll spirit,” and their live reputation backs it up: high energy, improvisational, and built around a crowd connection that keeps people coming back year after year.

2026 is their 25th anniversary year. Violinist Tim Carbone put the milestone plainly: “Twenty-five years. It’s hard to wrap your head around… somehow that turned into a quarter century.” Drummer Carey Harmon is less retrospective about it: “The music feels as fresh and challenging as ever.” Their most recent album, All For The Song, was recorded in New Orleans with producer Anders Osborne, incorporating horns and blues harmonica alongside the signature roots instrumentation. It was made in the years following the 2018 passing of founding member Andy Goessling.
