Railroad Earth has been packing Sherman Theater every Thanksgiving since 2006, and the crowd that shows up for it — the devoted fans who call themselves Hobos and travel from across the country just for this weekend — treats Horn O’ Plenty less like a concert and more like a gathering. With 2026 marking the band’s 25th anniversary, this year’s two-night run feels like exactly the kind of milestone you want to be inside for.
About the Show
The two-day bundle covers Friday, November 27, and Saturday, November 28, both starting at 8 p.m. with doors at 7. For Railroad Earth, the annual Sherman Theater run has long served as the kickoff of the holiday tour season, a tradition rooted in the band’s “dynamic blend of bluegrass, rock, and Americana” built around skilled improvisation. Expect extended jams, deep catalog pulls, and the kind of setlist that ranges from upbeat bluegrass to introspective folk.
This edition carries added weight as part of Railroad Earth’s 25th anniversary year. The band arrived at 2026 with a refreshed lineup and new material: Andrew Ryan (bass) and George Guthrie (banjo/guitar) joined in 2025, both debuting at last year’s Horn O’ Plenty, now touring alongside core members Todd Sheaffer (guitar/vocals), Tim Carbone (fiddle/vocals), John Skehan (mandolin/vocals), Carey Harmon (drums/percussion), and Matt Slocumb (keys). The anniversary cycle launched with “Keep Your Eyes Open,” a Sheaffer-penned track that adds to a catalog stretching from the band’s 2002 debut.
Each night of the two-day run comes with unique openers and surprise guests. No 2026 supporting acts have been named yet, though past years have brought in high-caliber collaborators, and the format guarantees that Friday and Saturday feel like two distinct nights rather than a repeat. The show is All Ages; 21 and older to drink with valid ID.
