Bingham emerged in 2007 with his debut Mescalito, then spent the better part of two decades cultivating a following that doesn’t need radio support to hold. Grammy, Oscar, and Golden Globe recognition arrived along the way, and five seasons portraying Walker on Paramount’s Yellowstone broadened his reach considerably — an exposure that, to his credit, hasn’t softened what he does onstage. He launched Bingham’s Bourbon in 2024, which rounds out a career that has never been content to operate in a single lane.
They Call Us the Lucky Ones, released May 15 via The Bingham Recording Co./Thirty Tigers, is his seventh studio album. Recorded with The Texas Gentlemen — a proper working band, tracked live with minimal overdubs — it spans folk, blues, country, rock, and mariachi in a way that reads less like deliberate genre blending and more like what happens when a songwriter follows the songs where they go. The full band brings fiddle, mandolin, pedal steel, piano, and organ into the mix alongside Bingham’s vocals, giving the material room to move. Rolling Stone called the album “as complete a record as Bingham has ever recorded.” The Artpark show arrives two weeks into that album’s life — when a touring artist has the new material under his fingers without having played it into the ground.
