Simple Plan at Slush Puppie Place | February 9, 2027

By Marc Delacroix · October 7, 2026

Simple Plan’s “Bigger Than You Think!” tour carries its own implicit argument: that the Montreal pop-punk quartet who gave a generation “I’m Just a Kid” and “Welcome to My Life” still has business in rooms this large. The band hasn’t mounted a proper cross-Canada arena run in over a decade — a fact they’re clearly aware of, given that the tour name reads less like marketing copy and more like a response to unspoken doubt. After 25 years, they’re making their case on their home turf.

About the Show

The “Bigger Than You Think!” tour is Simple Plan’s 25th-anniversary global run, and the Canadian leg — 14 arena dates spanning January 26 through February 16, 2027, across eight provinces from Victoria to Halifax — is the first comprehensive cross-country headlining tour the band has undertaken in over a decade. The Kingston date is stop 10 of 14, landing between London (February 7) and Ottawa (February 11) on what amounts to a proper Ontario sweep.

Support at Kingston comes from Yellowcard, who arrive with “Better Days,” their new album produced by blink-182’s Travis Barker, and Bowling for Soup, who’ve been making pop-punk irreverence their profession for three decades. It is a nostalgia package assembled with some care, given that not every anniversary bill can point to two opening acts with their own catalogs worth hearing. The band’s August 2026 Toronto date sold out immediately, a signal that the Canadian market hasn’t lost track of where Simple Plan sits.

Simple Plan formed in Montreal, released their multi-platinum debut “No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls” in 2002, and have since logged over 10 million albums sold worldwide, more than a billion YouTube views, and appearances ranging from the 2010 Winter Olympics to a collaboration with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Their most recent studio album, “Harder Than It Looks,” arrived in 2022. Four of their albums have charted in Canada’s top five. The band’s own accounting of the gap: “It’s been more than 10 years since the last time we did a proper cross-Canadian tour in our home and native land.”

Venue & Logistics

The show takes place at Slush Puppie Place, a 6,700-capacity arena on The Tragically Hip Way in Kingston, Ontario — a city that sits within the North Country coverage corridor and close enough to the border that a cross-river drive for a show like this is not an unusual proposition. Show time is 7:00 p.m.
