2000s Rave at Empire Live | November 14, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · September 15, 2026

The nostalgia economy has been good to the early 2000s. Those records nobody admitted buying (the hard house 12-inches, the happy hardcore anthems, the Flo Rida drops that soundtracked a decade of bad decisions) have aged, improbably, into something approaching genuine affection. 2000s Rave, the Los Angeles-based touring DJ event, has been making that case in clubs and theaters across North America since at least 2025. It arrives at Empire Live in Albany on Saturday, November 14 at 8:30 p.m.

About the Show

The premise is clear-eyed about what it’s selling: reworked and remixed versions of early 2000s pop and electronic hits, including Britney Spears, Usher, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Flo Rida, Ke$ha, Pitbull, and Akon, performed by contemporary EDM artists against a backdrop of period-accurate visuals: music videos, TV commercials, and early YouTube content that functions now as cultural archaeology. The production at representative dates has been described as immersive, with “exclusive edits and remixes crafted for modern dancefloors” layered over the nostalgia content. At other stops on the tour, the set has also drawn from credible electronic acts of the era — The Chemical Brothers, Scooter, The Prodigy — a reminder that the early 2000s dance floor had genuine range before the ringtone era narrowed everything down to the chorus.

The promotional tagline frames the evening as “LimeWire classics remixed for the dancefloor by the hottest artists in EDM. Party like it’s 2003.” The music spans hard house, happy hardcore, techno, and Y2K bass remixes, with pop-punk material woven in as well. At representative tour stops, attendees are encouraged to arrive in 2000s-inspired outfits. No support acts are listed for the Albany date.

The fall 2026 leg carries 14 confirmed upcoming dates running from September 2026 through January 2027, with stops in Raleigh, Chicago, New Orleans, Houston, and Denver among others. Empire Live is the only upstate New York stop on the run.
