The four acts on Beyond Purple’s marquee — Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, and Dio — aren’t a random sampling of classic hard rock. They belong to the same extended rock dynasty, bound by shared members and a guitar lineage that defined what hard rock sounded like across the better part of two decades. Covering all four simultaneously isn’t diffusing a tribute band’s focus; it’s making the case that these bands were always telling one story across four different names, and that the source material is strong enough to support the claim.
About the Show
Beyond Purple brings its showcase of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, and Dio to Daryl’s House on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m., performing what the band describes as “the biggest hits” from all four acts. The group bills itself as “THE 80’s Rock tribute experience,” a self-assessment that requires evidence, and the lineup provides some. Guitarist Jimi Bell carries national touring experience from Autograph and House of Lords, with skills the band’s own site calls “world class.” Drummer BJ Zampa comes out of Dokken and House of Lords. Keyboardist Gary Fox Jr. is a longtime member of Physical Graffiti, the Led Zeppelin tribute, which keeps him practiced in the classic hard rock vocabulary. Together they’ve developed what the band calls a fast-growing reputation across concert stages and festivals throughout North America, with confirmed dates in Pennsylvania before this Pawling stop.
Out front, vocalist Mike Gill interprets the distinct styles of Ian Gillan, David Coverdale, Graham Bonnet, Joe Lynn Turner, and Ronnie James Dio across a single set: five iconic voices, none interchangeable, each with a following that will notice any approximation. Whether Gill threads that needle is the kind of question worth the ticket price to answer in person. Confirmed in the repertoire: “Smoke on the Water,” “Woman from Tokyo,” “Give Me All Your Love,” and “Out & About.” The band describes its goal as faithfully re-creating “the vivid experience of live, high-energy music” from what they call rock’s greatest era. Beyond Purple performed at Daryl’s House in April 2021; Saturday’s show is a return engagement.
Venue & Logistics
Daryl’s House is on Route 22 in Pawling, a Hudson Valley club with a 300-person capacity. Hard rock in a room that size hits differently than it does from behind a lawn-section barrier; for a tribute band, that intimacy is either an asset or an exposure, depending entirely on how well the band knows the material. Doors at 5 p.m.; show at 8 p.m. All ages.
Tickets
Tickets run $33.84–$45.17, on sale since Sept. 16, 2026. Buy tickets.
