Cheyenne Jackson at Universal Preservation Hall | October 16, 2026

By Meg Andersen · August 24, 2026

When Cheyenne Jackson’s sold-out Carnegie Hall debut wrapped last December, it was praised for “authority, generosity, and unmistakable joy.” On Friday, October 16, the Mid Life Torso Tour arrives at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs — the same program, now on the road, framed as “a musical meditation on art, love, fatherhood, and the cosmic twists that have shaped his remarkable path.”

About the Show

The Mid Life Torso Tour is not a concept easily pinned to a genre. Jackson draws from “50 years of life, love, art and family,” moving across a single evening from Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley through Sam Smith and Chappell Roan, with his own original compositions anchoring the middle. That includes “Ok,” from his EP Love, Dad — a song about his father’s unconditional love for his gay son that earns some of the night’s more quiet moments. His albums I’m Blue, Skies, and Renaissance thread through the evening as well, making the set feel as much like a biography as a concert.

Jackson is a Grammy- and Emmy-nominated actor, singer, and songwriter. Broadway audiences know him from XANADU, All Shook Up, Into the Woods, and Oh Mary!; television viewers from American Horror Story, Glee, 30 Rock, and Julie and the Phantoms, which earned him an Emmy nomination. His concert work has taken him to Disney Hall, Lincoln Center, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Kennedy Center. The Carnegie Hall solo debut, directed by Tony Award winner Warren Carlyle, sold out last December.

He’ll be joined by music director Michael Orland on piano, Brian Boyce on percussion, Max Wagner on guitar, and Gary Wix on bass.

Venue & Logistics

Universal Preservation Hall is at 25 Washington St in Saratoga Springs, which makes this one of the easier Capital Region shows to build a night around. The Great Hall’s 1,100 seats put you meaningfully closer to Jackson than the rooms he usually headlines: Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Lincoln Center. That gap is worth the drive for anyone who follows what he does on stage. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 16.
