Firefall at Clayton Opera House | August 27, 2026

By Meg Andersen · July 12, 2026

Clayton sits right on the St. Lawrence River, which means any show at the Clayton Opera House is already half a road trip worth making just for the drive. Add Firefall on a Thursday night in late August and you have yourself a plan.

About Firefall

The Colorado country-rock band has been at it for more than four decades, but the songs they built in the late seventies still hold up. “You Are the Woman.” “Just Remember I Love You.” “Strange Way.” Hooks that earned their way into the Top Ten and kept finding audiences. Firefall landed six Top 40 singles between 1976 and 1981, released albums on Atlantic Records that went gold and platinum, and opened for Fleetwood Mac during the Rumours tour — including a hometown show at Folsom Field in Boulder for 61,500 people. Colorado Music Hall of Fame inductees. The Colorado sound before that phrase existed.

Co-founder and guitarist Jock Bartley has kept the band running through every lineup change and decade shift. The current group brings that catalog to stages across the country. Their most recent release is Friends & Family 2. This is a working band, not a nostalgia act.

Clayton Opera House

The Clayton Opera House is a 400-seat historic theater at 405 Riverside Drive, right in the heart of the Thousand Islands. It is the kind of room where the venue becomes part of the night — a building with character, a crowd that shows up from the islands and the surrounding North Country, and an intimate scale where the songs have room to land. The 2026 season has brought in David Sedaris, Tig Notaro, Sister Hazel, and The Bacon Brothers. Firefall fits this programming perfectly: real chart history in a room small enough to make it feel personal.
