Grace Kelly recorded her first album at twelve and played saxophone at Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration at sixteen. Before her mid-twenties, she had already joined Jon Batiste’s house band on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and performed at the Hollywood Bowl. On Friday, August 14, she brings fifteen albums and a catalog of 1,500-plus concerts to The Stationery Factory in Dalton.
About the Show
Kelly’s sound fuses jazz, funk, and pop into what she calls “electro jazz-pop,” and her live sets carry the kind of energy that is hard to translate to a studio recording. A Massachusetts native — born in Wellesley — she studied at the New England Conservatory Prep School and Berklee College of Music under alto legend Lee Konitz and went on to perform in more than forty countries, at the Kennedy Center, and at Moscow Symphony Hall. Her collaborators have included Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., Questlove, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Jon Batiste. Downbeat Magazine named her a Rising Star on alto saxophone nine consecutive times; in 2023, she won the Critics Poll for Rising Star Baritone Saxophone as well. She won Song of the Year at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, holds multiple ASCAP Composer Awards, and appeared as a featured musician in Amazon’s Emmy-nominated series Bosch. She became the youngest member of Berklee College of Music’s Board of Trustees in 2022 and co-founded Saxy School with Leo P of Too Many Zooz.

Venue & Logistics
The Stationery Factory is an adaptive re-use industrial space in Dalton, tucked into the Berkshires a short drive east of the New York state line. The main concert room features a 32-by-20-foot stage, a 48-foot bar, and what the venue describes as a world-class sound and lighting system. With capacity at 1,000, it is a room scaled for full immersion rather than spectacle. The complex also houses artisan studios, galleries, and retail, which gives it an identity beyond a standard event venue. For Capital Region concertgoers, Dalton is a manageable drive, and the surrounding area is worth arriving early to explore. No doors time has been announced.
