Beyond Purple covers the full Deep Purple family tree in a single night — Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow, and Dio all in one set — with a lineup that includes veterans of Autograph, House of Lords, and Dokken. On Saturday, November 7, the band brings that show to The Stationery Factory’s MainStage in Dalton, Massachusetts.
About the Show
The band’s aim is straightforward: “faithfully re-create the vivid experience of live, high-energy music from what many consider to be Rock’s greatest era.” In practice, that’s a catalog-deep set built around “Smoke on the Water,” “Give Me All Your Love,” “Woman From Tokyo,” and “Out & About,” with Rainbow and Dio material threaded throughout.
What makes the concept work is the lineage. All four acts are, as the band puts it, “born out of the Deep Purple family tree,” connected closely enough that a single set can move between their catalogs without losing its thread. Vocalist Mike Gill, whose background includes Livesay and Johnny A., handles the full vocal range: Ian Gillan’s upper register on the Deep Purple songs, David Coverdale’s delivery on the Whitesnake catalog, and the approaches of Graham Bonnet, Joe Lynn Turner, and Ronnie James Dio where the set calls for it.
On guitar, Jimi Bell (a veteran of Autograph and House of Lords) handles the solos. BJ Zampa, also from Dokken and House of Lords, drives the drums. Bassist Brian Camilleri locks in alongside him. Gary Fox Jr. handles keyboards and backing vocals; a longtime member of Led Zeppelin tribute Physical Graffiti, he knows what it takes to reconstruct a classic-rock catalog for a live room.
Beyond Purple has built what its own site describes as a “fast growing reputation as THE 80’s Rock tribute experience,” with a touring footprint spanning stages and festivals across North America. Their 2026 schedule includes confirmed dates in New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Fan response has run enthusiastic: “KILLER JOB! Vocals and musicians were on the spot.”
Venue & Logistics
The Stationery Factory is at 63 Flansburg Avenue in Dalton, in the Massachusetts Berkshires — the drive from the capital region is worth making for the MainStage alone, which sits within a complex of three interconnected spaces and features a 32-by-20-foot concert stage with a sound and lighting system the venue describes as “world class.” There are approximately 100 parking spaces on site. The full bar is open during the show; The Stationery Cafe covers beverages and snacks, and The Shire Tavern provides full dining if you want to make a proper evening of it. Show time is 7:30 p.m.
