Beauty School Dropout at Empire Underground | October 26, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · August 24, 2026

Beauty School Dropout spent part of 2025 opening for blink-182 in arenas. The Circus Tour is their first proper North American headline run (it follows their debut album WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO? and a prior run through Europe and the UK), and they’re routing it through 500-capacity clubs. That’s either a statement of intent or an honest assessment of where they are. The band would say it’s both: “We wanted to make rock music feel fun again. When’s the last time you walked into a party and a band was playing?” Empire Underground gets the Albany stop on October 26.

About the Show

The Los Angeles quartet — vocalist Cole “Colie” Hutzler, guitarist and producer Bardo Novotny, bassist Brent “Beepus” Burdett, and drummer Colton Flurry — released their debut on Verswire in 2025, produced by Neal Avron, whose credits include Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park. The band describes the record as “a hedonistic dream. A rock and roll revival,” built on what they call “dynamic modern-rock riffs, sultry lyrics, and utterly electric choruses.” Thematically it circles unrequited love and “the lengths we go to fill its void,” with “stadium-sized hooks” running alongside stripped-back moments, and a sound that blends what the band calls “traditional rock energy with cutting-edge synths.”

The Circus Tour covers 27 dates across North America, October 8 through mid-November, with Vans Warped Tour and Ceremony Festival appearances also woven into this same run. The band’s promotional line — “CIRCUS NEVER SLEEPS. SEE YOU SOON FREAKS.” — makes the aesthetic clear enough. Supporting on the Albany date, and continuing through the East Coast and Southeast leg, is No Love For The Middle Child, a producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. The band already has support runs with blink-182, Turnstile, and JXDN on the résumé; The Circus Tour is the first time their name goes on the marquee at this scale.

Venue & Logistics

Empire Underground sits at 93 N Pearl St in Albany, a two-floor multi-genre room with a track record for booking rock and alternative acts in the window between building a fanbase and the next jump in venue size. For a band whose central argument is that rock belongs somewhere you can feel it, 500 capacity is the right size for the experiment. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. More Capital Region shows are on the regional calendar.
