If you follow the Jazz at Kleinhans series, you already know that November 8 is circled. If you do not follow it yet, this is a good reason to start: Nicole Zuraitis Quintet, the Mary Seaton Room at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, 3:00 PM on a Sunday afternoon.
About Nicole Zuraitis
Zuraitis is a two-time GRAMMY winner and six-time GRAMMY-nominated vocalist, pianist, songwriter, and arranger who has been setting benchmarks in contemporary jazz for years. Her 2024 win for Best Jazz Vocal Album — for How Love Begins, an album she entirely self-wrote and self-arranged — made her the only artist ever to receive that honor for a fully self-authored project. The 2025 follow-up brought another GRAMMY for Best Large Ensemble.
She comes to Buffalo with real momentum behind her. The Devil I Knew — a concept album produced by Larry Klein — is due out July 17, 2026, and a November show puts her deep into that cycle. Her previous album Live at Vic’s Las Vegas earned two 2026 GRAMMY nominations and was featured on NPR’s Toast of the Nation. Her performance résumé includes Newport Jazz Festival, Tanglewood, Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center, Birdland, and the Blue Note. Collaborators include Christian McBride, Jon Batiste, and Keb’ Mo’.
