Riley Green at Darien Lake Amphitheater | August 6, 2026
Riley Green’s Cowboy As It Gets Tour lands at Darien Lake Amphitheater on Thursday, August 6 — and if the trajectory of his career over the past three years is any indication, a 21,600-capacity outdoor amphitheater is exactly the right room for where he stands right now.
About Riley Green
Green is from Jacksonville, Alabama — a small city that produced, among other things, a Jacksonville State University quarterback who discovered somewhere along the way that he had more to say through a microphone than a playbook. His 2018 self-titled EP introduced him to the format; the singles that followed built a fanbase that has stayed unusually loyal through successive album cycles. “There Was This Girl” reached No. 1 and went platinum. “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” is certified three-times platinum and was performed at the 55th ACM Awards. “Different ‘Round Here,” featuring Luke Combs, became his third No. 1 single. His collaboration with Thomas Rhett, “Half of Me,” also topped the chart. His third studio album, Don’t Mind If I Do — 18 tracks, five written solely by Green, produced by Dann Huff — continues that run.
The 2023 touring season offers the clearest measure of how fast Green has climbed: support slots for Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs averaged 65,000 fans per night. Opening for acts at that scale is a different kind of audition. He passed. This tour — named after a track from the deluxe edition of Don’t Mind If I Do, a 20-date Live Nation production sponsored by Boot Barn — is his first sustained headline run at the arena level. The April 18 stop at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville marked his first headline performance at that building. By the time the tour reaches Darien Lake on August 6, the band will be road-tested, and Green will have four recent CMA Award nominations to his name.
Three of the tour’s six rotating openers perform at Darien Lake: Justin Moore, Zach John King, and Hannah McFarland. Moore is a proven headliner in his own right — a country veteran with his own string of No. 1 singles — which says something about the bill Green is putting together.
