Thirty-nine years after Appetite for Destruction changed the conversation about what a rock debut could sell, Guns N’ Roses brings the 2026 World Tour to Albany Med Health System at SPAC on Sunday, July 26 — the first North American dates the band has played since late 2023. Public Enemy opens, a pairing that gives the evening something heavier than a typical co-headliner arrangement: two American acts with legitimate cultural weight sharing a single summer night in the Capital Region.
About Guns N’ Roses
The version of the Guns N’ Roses reunion story where it all quietly fades didn’t materialize. Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined in 2016, and the band has toured almost without interruption since, expanding to a seven-piece lineup — Axl Rose, Slash, McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Isaac Carpenter, and Melissa Reese. In December 2025, they released two new tracks, “Nothin'” and “Atlas,” via Geffen Records, the first new material since “The General” in 2023. Whether those songs are a preview of a larger creative push or a self-contained gesture ahead of a long tour is a question the road will answer; their existence at least signals the band is not running entirely on catalog.
Appetite for Destruction (1987) is the best-selling U.S. debut album ever and ranks among the top-selling American releases overall. The band has accumulated 100 million total units sold, and in May 2024 the Recording Academy inducted Appetite for Destruction into the Grammy Hall of Fame. The 2026 World Tour covers more than 60 dates across Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and North America. The routing reflects the scale of the operation — from São Paulo to a historic return to the Rose Bowl, the band’s first appearance there in over 30 years. The Saratoga date falls mid-run on the North American leg, which closes September 19 at Atlanta’s Truist Park.
