Here is the thing about a Handguns show: you know what you are getting, and that is exactly the point. Harrisburg’s most durable pop punk export — a band on Pure Noise Records, veterans of full Vans Warped Tour runs, with over 400 documented concerts since forming in 2008 — is coming to Montage Music Hall in Rochester on Friday, May 21, 2027. Doors are at 6 pm. The room holds 400. Be on time.
About Handguns
Handguns formed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 2008 with vocalist Taylor Eby at the center of the lineup. They signed to Pure Noise Records and released their debut full-length Angst in 2012, followed by Life Lessons (2014), Disenchanted (2015), and When The Light Burns Out (2020). They played the full Vans Warped Tour in both 2013 and 2015 — which is not nothing — and took their show to Europe with Senses Fail and all the way to Japan.
The band survived lineup changes that would have ended lesser projects, including a major shakeup in 2017 that sent multiple members out the door. Vocalist Taylor Eby pulled founding members back in and kept the engine running. His own description of the band says it best: “the cockroach of pop punk. Chop our heads off and we’ll just grow another one.” That is not bravado. That is just a band that will not quit.
If you grew up on State Champs, Man Overboard, or Forever Came Calling, this is your room on May 21st.
