The name was chosen before Ozzy Osbourne died. SABBATH — the Central Ohio tribute act that bills itself as North America’s Black Sabbath Tribute — launched the Long Live OZZY tour while Osbourne was still alive, and it was already a fitting declaration for a catalog that had outlasted its critics across five decades of heavy metal. Since Ozzy’s death in July 2025 following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, the tour title carries different freight. SABBATH brings it to Stroudsburg’s Sherman Theater on Friday, August 21.

SABBATH, the Central Ohio group touring the Long Live OZZY run nationally, covers both bodies of work: the Osbourne era of Black Sabbath, the Ronnie James Dio era, and the solo catalog Ozzy built after leaving the band. The scope extends beyond a straightforward Ozzy tribute; Dio-era material from Mob Rules and Heaven & Hell pushes the set into something closer to a full Black Sabbath retrospective.
The presentation is theatrical and precise. The band performs “note for note to exact album perfection” using the same equipment, tones, tunings, costumes, stage props, and instruments the original acts used, an approach framed as delivering “the most authentic Sabbath experience possible,” recreating “the thunderous riffs, the chilling vocals, and the raw emotional power” of the source material. Albums represented span the full catalog: Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Black Sabbath Vol. 4, Sabotage, Mob Rules, and Heaven & Hell. Songs in the current touring rotation include “Iron Man,” “War Pigs,” and “Mr. Crowley” alongside solo-era entries: “Crazy Train,” “Mama I’m Coming Home,” “Shot In The Dark,” and “Close My Eyes Forever.” The Long Live OZZY promotional copy: “To get any closer, you’d need a time machine.” The Sherman Theater date falls one night before a Patchogue Theatre show on Long Island, two stops on an active late-August East Coast leg.
