About the Show
The tour runs 13 dates from August 11 through September 3, with Chautauqua as just the second stop, two nights after the opening show in Cincinnati. The material draws heavily from CINEMATIC, Groban’s album released May 8 via Reprise Records, which gathers film music across decades — songs tied to The Godfather, Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Stand by Me, and his version of “Skyfall.” That last track got its TV debut on Good Morning America; he performed “Stand by Me” on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Groban described the tour’s purpose directly: “I’ve always been drawn to music that tells a story, whether it’s on the Broadway stage, in film, or through a great symphonic arrangement. This tour is a chance for me to bring all of those worlds together while sharing many of the songs that have inspired me throughout my career. Performing this music alongside some of the best orchestras in the world each night is going to be incredibly special.”
A classically trained singer who studied at the Interlochen Arts Program and emerged in 1999 as a stand-in for Andrea Bocelli, Groban has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide. Closer, his 2003 breakthrough, went six-times platinum and was the best-selling classical album of the 2000s; Noël reached seven-times platinum. He is a five-time GRAMMY®-nominated artist who earned Tony® nominations for Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 in 2016 and the 2023 Sweeney Todd revival. The Chautauqua date is part of an especially active stretch: he wrapped a summer tour with Jennifer Hudson in July and follows Stage, Screen & Symphony with an October residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
