Jungle at Place Bell | September 13, 2026

By Tanya Reeves · July 19, 2026

Jungle spent a decade building toward the moment “Back On 74” made official: a West London trio working at the intersection of soul, funk, and electronic production, putting out records that sounded like memories of something you couldn’t quite name. Now on their fifth album, they bring the Sunshine World Tour to Place Bell in Laval on Sunday, September 13, with the album dropping August 14 via AWAL.

About the Show

Sunshine marks another turn in Jungle’s ongoing creative evolution. Volcano peaked at #3 on the UK Albums Chart and earned the band a BRIT Award for Group of the Year; Sunshine blends that retro-nostalgia aesthetic with folksy, twangy textures that expand their palette without abandoning what made it work. The 11-track album includes “Romeo II” featuring Bas, “Heavy on My Soul,” and lead single “Carry On,” which debuted as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record. “Carry On” puts vocalist Lydia Kitto front and center on a piece about heartbreak — an emotionally direct performance that reflects how central she has become to the band’s identity since joining as a permanent member in 2023.

The group traces back to 2013, when West London founders Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, who met as children in Shepherd’s Bush, began making music together. Their 2014 debut earned a Mercury Prize nomination and is now Gold-certified. Loving In Stereo (2021) debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Current Electronic Albums chart. By the time Volcano arrived, Jungle had already performed for more than 190,000 people across five continents, with sets at Glastonbury, Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza on the record. They describe their live experience as “a perfect come-as-you-are party” — an invitation as much as a description.

Opening the night is Rio Kosta, the Los Angeles duo of Mike Del Rio and Kosta Galanopoulos. Their 2025 debut Unicorn draws from a deep well of soul, funk, and groove, with Idris Muhammed, Jorge Ben, and War among the reference points. They’ve been described as spiritual cousins to Khruangbin and have opened for Hot Chip.
