Kingston is a good excuse for a road trip any time of year, but Sunday, November 29 gives you a genuinely great one: BenDeLaCreme and Jinkx Monsoon are bringing their ninth annual holiday spectacular to UPAC — and Kingston is the only upstate New York stop on their entire 30-city North American tour.
Let that sink in. The NYC shows at New York City Center (November 25 and 27) will go fast, and after that, the closest date for anyone in the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, or driving down from Central New York is right here at 601 Broadway.
About The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Show
By any reasonable measure, this show is a phenomenon. Entertainment Weekly calls BenDeLaCreme and Jinkx Monsoon “the reigning queens of Christmas.” The New York Times describes it as “a queer, clever, and heartfelt Christmas show that keeps getting bigger.” What makes it remarkable is that every year the whole production is built from scratch — new story, new original songs, new costumes, new everything. Past editions have worked through sentient Christmas treats, Dickensian ghosts, AI storylines, and elf attacks. The through-line is over-the-top camp spectacle with genuinely funny gags, thrilling dance numbers, and the kind of heartfelt storytelling that sneaks up on you between the laughs.
BenDeLaCreme (RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 and All Stars 3) writes, directs, and produces the whole operation through her company BenDeLaCreme Presents. Jinkx Monsoon is a two-time Drag Race winner with Broadway credits including Chicago, Little Shop of Horrors, and Pirates! The Penzance Musical, plus acclaimed recent roles as Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! and Judy Garland in End of the Rainbow in London. Together they have built something that keeps selling out bigger rooms every year — and this November they land in Kingston.
