Bored Teachers made its name turning classroom chaos into touring comedy, and the “Is It Friday Yet?!” tour arrives at UPAC in Kingston at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24 with brand-new material and an audience primed to laugh at everything the school week has thrown at them.
About the Show
Founded by former educators James and Marilou Tarantino, Bored Teachers grew from a grassroots online community into what the organization describes as “the world’s leading teacher-entertainment company.” Since launching the touring arm in 2022, the group has sold out 200+ theaters across 49 states, 5 countries, and 3 continents, performing for more than 200,000 teachers worldwide. The group also runs what it calls the “#1 teacher-comedy podcast” and has accumulated over 1 billion video views and 10 million social followers along the way.
The Kingston show draws from a rotating roster of 24+ performers (lineup varies show to show), including James Graves, Chad Thornsberry, Jayson Cross, KC Mack, and others. The material covers the full territory: grading papers, surviving staff meetings, and all the absurdities the profession generates between Monday and Friday. Runtime is 1 hour and 40 minutes. Per the venue’s own content note, the show “may contain PG-13 language, teacher truths, and uncontrollable fits of laughter.” As the group’s promotional materials note, the humor resonates with “anyone who’s ever been in a classroom, dealt with a parent-teacher conference, or struggled to keep a straight face during a staff meeting.” One of the tour’s performers put it plainly: “Teachers spend their lives giving everything they have for their students. This tour is about giving something back.”
