W. Chippewa is one of those Buffalo streets that rewards showing up early. There are always options on both sides of the block, and when Rec Room books a show, it usually means something worth planning around. On Monday, June 22, it means Leftöver Crack — and that is a very good reason to make the drive.
About Leftöver Crack
Leftöver Crack formed in 1998 from the breakup of Choking Victim, out of New York City’s Alphabet City. What they built in the years since has its own name: Crack Rock Steady, a genre-bending collision of anarcho-punk, ska, hardcore, crust, and metal, with lyrics aimed squarely at capitalism, religion, and authoritarian systems. Their live shows have a reputation for being raw and volatile, which in a 300-person room on W. Chippewa is going to translate directly.
The band returns to active touring behind Abandon The Precincts, their first full-length since 2015. Singles “Shooticide” and “White Guilt Atrocity Quilt” — featuring new vocalist Tibbie X — have been the previews, and they signal a band that has not mellowed in the decade off.
Supporting the night: Sadplant, The Dollheads, and World’s Scariest Police Chases. Four bands. Doors at 6:00 PM.
Heads up: This show was rescheduled from its original April 19 date. If you already have tickets, they are valid — no exchange needed.
