Paul Simon at Tanglewood | June 27, 2026
Paul Simon brings his A Quiet Celebration tour to the Koussevitzky Music Shed at Tanglewood on Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 PM — Night 1 of a rare two-night stand at one of the premier outdoor music venues in the Northeast.
About Paul Simon
This is Simon’s first major North American tour in seven years. After losing most of the hearing in his left ear and facing serious uncertainty about whether he would perform again, Simon worked with Stanford’s hearing loss initiative to develop a new monitor setup that made this return possible. “I’ve often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I’d consider bringing my performing career to a natural end,” he told Rolling Stone. This tour is his answer to that question.
The centerpiece of every night on the A Quiet Celebration tour is the first-ever live performance of Seven Psalms, Simon’s 2023 album — a 33-minute acoustic work in seven connected segments. Alongside it, the tour has been drawing from the deep catalog: expect “The Lord,” “Love Is Like a Braid,” “Graceland,” “Homeward Bound,” and “Slip Slidin’ Away” among the constants. Simon most recently appeared on the national stage performing “Homeward Bound” with Sabrina Carpenter at SNL‘s 50th Anniversary Special.
He performs with a 10-piece ensemble: Caleb Burhans (viola), Jamey Haddad (percussion), Gyan Riley and Mark Stewart (guitars), Mick Rossi (piano/keys), Andy Snitzer (saxophone), Nancy Stagnita (flute), Eugene Friesen (cello), and Steve Gadd and Matt Chamberlin alternating on drums. The configuration reflects the acoustic, chamber-scale intimacy this tour was designed around.
About Tanglewood
Tanglewood is located at 297 West Street in Lenox, Massachusetts — the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, set on a sprawling estate in the Berkshires. The Koussevitzky Music Shed is the main stage, offering both formal seating and the famous lawn, where concertgoers spread out under open sky with the Berkshire hills in the distance. It is one of the defining outdoor concert experiences in the country, and a fitting room for a tour built around acoustic precision.
