Professor Louie & The Crowmatix at The Falcon | January 29, 2027

By Kira Vasquez · October 30, 2026

Professor Louie spent 17 years inside The Band’s orbit, co-producing their final three albums, playing keys and accordion, earning his name from Rick Danko himself. That history is baked into every note Professor Louie & The Crowmatix play, and on Friday, January 29, they bring it to The Falcon in Marlboro for a night of roots rock and blues in one of the Hudson Valley’s most intimate rooms.

About the Show

The Woodstock-based band has been expanding the edges of rock, Americana, and blues since the early 2000s, recording 18 albums over more than two decades of active touring throughout the Northeast and beyond. The connections throughout the group extend into some of American music’s deepest roots: Miss Marie recorded with Levon Helm and Rick Danko; Frank Campbell served as Levon Helm’s musical director with the Woodstock All-Stars; and other members have shared stages with Van Morrison and Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Review.

The industry has taken note. Grammy nominations across Best Americana Album, Best American Roots Performance, and Best American Roots Song. Induction into the New York State Blues Hall of Fame. A permanent place in the Canada South Blues Museum. The Robert H. Chambers Award for Excellence in the Traditional Arts (2015). It is a résumé that reads like a map of the American roots tradition.

Their latest album, Crowin’ Around (2025), mixes seven original biographical songs by Hurwitz and Miss Marie with three reinterpretations of artists the band has produced, including The Band, Commander Cody, and Graham Parker, plus one instrumental by composer Moon Dog. It reached #1 on the Relix Jamband Radio Charts and now plays on more than 190 stations nationwide. The January 29 set draws from rock, gospel, blues, and folk in the style the band calls “Americana at its Best.”
