If you have been waiting for a reason to make the drive up to Rutland, here it is. Pure Prairie League comes to the Paramount Theatre on Thursday, August 13, with doors opening at 6:30 PM and the show starting at 7:30 PM. Seating begins at 7:00 PM — get there early and get settled in. A North Country historic theater like this one deserves to be experienced from the right seat.
About Pure Prairie League
Pure Prairie League has been one of country-rock’s most enduring acts for more than 50 years. They formed in Columbus, Ohio in 1969, and their sound — high harmonies, pedal steel, and rock and roll underneath — helped establish a genre that artists from Keith Urban to Wilco and Counting Crows still name as a major influence. Their multi-platinum album Bustin’ Out produced “Amie,” a song that climbed the Billboard charts and found a home on both FM and country radio, becoming one of the decade’s most recognized country-rock tracks.
The current lineup — guitarist and vocalist Jeff Zona, pedal steel and saxophonist John Heinrich, keyboardist Randy Harper, bassist Jared Camic, and drummer Scott Thompson — keeps the catalog alive and evolving. Their most recent studio release, Back On Track, adds twelve new songs alongside everything the catalog already holds.
About the Paramount Theatre
The Paramount Theatre is an 838-seat historic theater right in downtown Rutland. It is the kind of room where country harmonies actually land — a proper listening space, not a barn with a PA. If you are coming from Burlington or elsewhere in the Champlain Valley, budget around an hour and a half and plan to make a night of it in Rutland before showtime.
Tickets & Pricing
Tickets are $35 and $45, plus tax and fees. Grab yours at the Paramount Theatre box office.
