Seven Teller + Glass Pony at Funk ‘n Waffles | November 13, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · October 23, 2026

Sam Cochran built Seven Teller around a tension that most bands resolve by picking a lane: the crisp, forward-motion logic of post-punk dance music (borrowing from LCD Soundsystem and Talking Heads) and the extended, improvisational open-endedness the jam scene demands of its best live acts. The What Are The Chances? 2026 Tour, which stops at Funk ’n Waffles in Syracuse on Friday, November 13, is the live proof of concept.

About the Show

Seven Teller, the Baltimore art-rock project Cochran launched in 2020 alongside Wyatt Graham, Matthew Grube, and Ben Nevius, released its debut full-length What Are The Chances? on February 20, 2026. The ten-track record has since been road-tested at festival stops including Domefest, Groovin’ WV, Some Kind Of Jam, The Get Down, and Pine Ridge Music Fest; before the album, the band had already logged what their Domefest biography calls “several big releases and national tours.” What the band describes as “deep improvisation” anchors the live experience: their songs serve as frameworks rather than fixed arrangements, with AllGood Presents noting that the band navigates “through the peaks and valleys of open-ended improvisation.” Sit-in appearances from Cotter Ellis of Goose, Jake Brownstein of Eggy, and Eli Winderman of Dopapod speak to the jam world’s regard for what Seven Teller is doing. Their devoted fanbase, known as the Teller Family, has been known to travel significant distances for these shows.

Support comes from Glass Pony, the Albany four-piece that the Times Union once described as pulling off “a glorious mix of Phish-indebted jam rock, funk, psych-rock, jazz and indie rock with a deft touch.” The band — Eddie Hotaling on guitar and vocals, Greg Pittz on lead guitar, Jeff Picarazzi on bass, and Chanda Dewey on drums — has built its reputation on improvisation and fluid sets that shift from night to night. NYSMusic noted the band has “steadily built a reputation as one of the more exciting young acts in the New York jam scene,” and Nippertown called them “a powerhouse of a band with blazing guitar riffs, tight jams, and melodic groove that makes people dance.”

Venue & Logistics

Funk ’n Waffles, the bar-and-venue on South Clinton Street in central New York, is part of the Syracuse live music circuit that catches emerging acts in the rooms that suit them. Seven Teller’s live approach, built around spontaneity and extended passages that don’t resolve where you expect, plays better up close. The show is 18+. Doors open at 7 p.m.
