Molly Hatchet’s first studio album in sixteen years doesn’t land until November 27, which means the October 23 show at Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill is, in effect, a preview: the band performing new material from Lost Horizon ahead of the album’s release. For an act that has been carrying its late-1970s catalog from festival circuit to theater since Justice came out in 2010, having something new to tour behind is itself the story.
About the Show
The Jacksonville, Florida outfit formed in 1971, and its platinum-era catalog — the self-titled debut (1978), Flirtin’ With Disaster (1979), and Beatin’ the Odds (1980) — built the Southern rock reputation the band has been touring on ever since. All of the original members who made those records have since passed; guitarist Bobby Ingram, who joined in 1987 and has held the trademark since 2000, is the band’s longest-standing consecutive member and produced Lost Horizon himself. He worked with engineer Chris Bolster (whose credits include Paul McCartney, Elton John, Kate Bush, Oasis, and the Foo Fighters) and chose to record all 12 tracks at Abbey Road Studios in London, specifically Studio 2. “In Studio 2, to be precise,” Ingram said, “that’s exactly where the Beatles worked.” David Gilmour’s background singers contributed to several tracks on the record as well.
Fronting the current lineup is vocalist Parker Lee, whom Ingram has described as bringing to mind “a young Danny Joe Brown, our unforgotten original singer.” The lead single, “Dixie Highway,” opens the album’s campaign; Ingram calls it “a true story of growing up in the south and living life on the edge.” His summary of the record: “It has the original foundational roots of the band… It’s MOLLY HATCHET 2.0.” The Peekskill show falls October 23 as part of a 17-date fall 2026 U.S. run ahead of the November 27 release — the first time in sixteen years that Molly Hatchet has had new material to place alongside the classics.
