Here is something I did not see coming: The Band Perry, playing an outdoor show in Chittenango next to actual giraffes and zebras.
The Haven of the Wild is an outdoor event venue off New Boston Road — and what makes it genuinely different from every other lawn show in central New York is what is right next to it. The venue sits adjacent to an African savanna backdrop, and yes, the wildlife is real. If your idea of a perfect summer Sunday involves a country-rock revival and animals you would normally only see on a safari, this might be your night.
The Show
The Band Perry is out on the Psycho Rodeo Tour — a name that comes from Kimberly Perry’s description of her dynamic with husband and bandmate Johnny Costello: “He’s the rodeo part, I’m the psycho part.” More than 75 shows are mapped out for 2026, and they are playing Lasso Montréal the night before this Chittenango date, so expect them to arrive road-sharp.
The catalog they are drawing from runs deep. “If I Die Young” became just the 18th country song in RIAA history to earn Diamond certification. Grammy, CMA, and ACM Award recognition dots the career timeline alongside multiple chart-topping singles. And their first new country-leaning single in nine years — “Psychological,” released in February 2026 — is already getting radio adds. Kimberly has called this whole run “Season 2,” and the Psycho Rodeo Tour is how they are proving it.
