The Wallflowers at Penn’s Peak | May 8, 2026
Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania is worth the drive on its own — those switchbacks through the Lehigh Gorge, the Victorian storefronts, the kind of mountain town that makes you wonder why you don’t come more often. Add The Wallflowers performing Bringing Down the Horse in its entirety on a Friday night at Penn’s Peak, and you have a road trip worth blocking out the calendar for.
About The Wallflowers
This spring, Jakob Dylan and The Wallflowers are marking the 30th anniversary of Bringing Down the Horse — the album that came out May 21, 1996, went quadruple platinum, and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. For this tour, the band performs the full record in sequence, start to finish: “6th Avenue Heartache,” “Three Marlenas,” “The Difference,” “One Headlight” (the Grammy-winning track that took home Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group), and every deep cut in between. This is the first time they’ve done this on a proper tour.
The set doesn’t stop there. The Wallflowers will also perform Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Long After Dark in its entirety as a tribute to Petty’s legacy — a two-album format they first tested at a special Los Angeles show in October 2024. Dylan explained it simply: “Coming back after such a long time, we wanted to do something special for the 30th anniversary of Bringing Down the Horse. We decided to play what seems to be our fans’ favorite Wallflowers album, and for us, we wanted to play one of our favorite Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers records, Long After Dark.”
Support comes from Tyler Ramsey.
About Penn’s Peak
Penn’s Peak sits in Jim Thorpe, PA — technically south of the border, but well within striking distance for anyone coming out of the Hudson Valley, the Catskills, or the Capital Region. If you haven’t made the trip before, the venue is worth knowing: a proper concert room in one of Pennsylvania’s most scenic small towns. Build in some time before the show to walk around Jim Thorpe — the town rewards it. Doors open at 6:00 PM for an 8:00 PM showtime.
