Frank Turner at Town Ballroom | September 16, 2026

By Marc Delacroix · July 29, 2026

Frank Turner has been building something since Million Dead ended in 2005 — not just a catalog, but a whole operation: an annual festival he curates himself, a band that has become a real ensemble in the fullest sense, and a following that crosses the Atlantic in both directions without hesitation. The Road to Lost Evenings IX brings that world to Town Ballroom in Buffalo on Wednesday, September 16, the second of five U.S. warm-up dates Turner and the Sleeping Souls are running before his ninth annual Lost Evenings festival opens in Dallas on September 24.

About the Show

The Buffalo stop arrives during a year with particular resonance. Campfire Punkrock 20, released April 10, 2026 on Xtra Mile Recordings, is a 20th anniversary expanded edition of the debut solo EP that launched his career: the original recordings alongside the two tracks from the 2007 U.S. release, plus seven live cuts from his 50th solo show in London in 2006. That EP, and the folk-punk voice it introduced, is why the press settled long ago on comparisons to Billy Bragg and Bruce Springsteen. His most recent studio album, Undefeated, arrived in 2024 on his own independent label after nearly a decade with Polydor and Interscope — a shift toward autonomy that now sits alongside a festival he has run on his own terms since 2017. The Road to Lost Evenings dates feature the full Sleeping Souls lineup (Nigel Powell, Ben Lloyd, Tarrant Anderson, Matt Nasir). Emily Wolfe and Black Guy Fawkes support.

Lost Evenings IX itself runs September 24–27 at the South Side Ballroom in Dallas, the fourth North American staging of the festival following Boston (2019), Anaheim (2023), and Toronto (2024). The four-night lineup includes Hot Water Music, The Menzingers, The Get Up Kids, Ben Kweller, Laura Stevenson, Vandoliers, …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, and Beans on Toast. A portion of proceeds benefits the Ally Coalition, an LGBTQ+ youth nonprofit. Turner on assembling the lineup each year: “Getting the line-up right for Lost Evenings each year is always a challenge and a joy. I feel like we’ve risen to it and surpassed ourselves this year.”
