Dionne Warwick at Paramount Hudson Valley | September 17, 2026

By Tanya Reeves · July 16, 2026

She started in gospel, singing alongside her sister Dee Dee as The Gospelaires in East Orange, New Jersey. That foundation, the kind that lives in the breath before a note and not just in the note itself, never left her voice, even as she became one of the most elegantly recorded pop vocalists in American music history. The Dionne Warwick who comes to Peekskill this September is that same woman. On the “Over and Out” farewell tour, she is making clear that this time, the goodbye is real.

About the Show

Warwick brings more than 75 charted hits to the Paramount Hudson Valley stage, a catalog built largely on the songs Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote for her. She was discovered in 1961 while doing session work with The Drifters; Bacharach, directing the session, was captivated by her voice, and she soon signed with Scepter Records. Her first Scepter release, “Don’t Make Me Over,” reached No. 21 on the Billboard chart in 1962, the opening of a run of 18 consecutive Top 100 singles. Those songs became part of the American vernacular: “Walk On By,” “I Say a Little Prayer,” “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?,” “Déjà Vu,” and “Heartbreaker.” In 1985, she recorded “That’s What Friends Are For” alongside Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, and Elton John, her final No. 1.

The honors have accumulated across more than six decades. Warwick holds multiple Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2019), and was the first African-American solo female artist of her era to win the Grammy for Best Contemporary Female Vocalist Performance. She was inducted into the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame in 2016, received the Marian Anderson Award and a Smithsonian Year in Music ambassadorship, participated in both “We Are the World” and Live Aid, and entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. That last recognition, arriving more than six decades into a career, is its own kind of statement about staying power.

Venue & Logistics

Paramount Hudson Valley seats 1,024 in Peekskill, placing a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer inside a room that most of her catalog has outgrown. The intimacy is the point: theater-close, in the Hudson Valley, for a voice that has always done more with a listener’s quiet attention than with a crowd’s roar. The show runs 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.
