The Palace Theatre has hosted its share of artists on the ascent — acts who arrive before the arenas come calling. Anne Wilson isn’t quite in that category anymore. The Lexington, Kentucky native’s 2021 breakthrough single “My Jesus” did something rare: it crossed over from Christian radio into the broader culture in a way that actually stuck. The song went Platinum, topped the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart, earned her debut album, My Jesus, a GRAMMY nomination, and logged over 100 million streams before most regional markets had caught up with her name.

Wilson has spent the years since pushing further into the country lane, taking home the 2022 GMA Dove Award for New Artist of the Year, releasing REBEL in 2023 through a joint UMG Nashville and Capitol CMG partnership, and now Stars — her third album, out October 2025 on Capitol Christian Music Group — which charted at No. 4 on Top Christian Albums and No. 39 on the country chart. The STARS Tour, extended 21 dates across the U.S. and Canada after strong early demand, makes its Capital Region stop at the Palace on Friday, May 8.

The booking is worth paying attention to. A 2,807-seat theater — Albany’s Palace, one of the most distinguished concert halls in the Northeast — is a serious room for an artist still building her general-market audience. It signals genuine local demand. Wilson’s origin story travels with her: singing at her brother Jacob’s funeral, the video going viral, Capitol CMG calling. That kind of grief and faith at the center of a career doesn’t fade with time. It shapes what happens in the room when she plays, and it shapes what audiences come looking for when they buy the ticket.
