A summer Saturday evening on the Buffalo waterfront, six thousand people under an open sky with Lake Erie at your back — that is exactly the kind of show you mark on your calendar in January and work backwards from. Arkells are bringing their Between Us tour to Outer Harbor Live at Terminal B on August 15, and if their sold-out April run at the Town Ballroom is any indication, you want to be there.
About Arkells
The Hamilton, Ontario band formed in 2004 when a group of McMaster University students named themselves after the street they lived and practiced on — Arkell Street in the Westdale neighbourhood. Two decades later they have nine Juno Awards, including a record six wins in the Group of the Year category, and a new album that already has people talking.
Between Us, released April 17, 2026 via Universal Music Canada and Virgin Music Group, was produced in Los Angeles with Grammy-winning producer John Congleton — the same person behind records for St. Vincent and Death Cab for Cutie. The 11-track album features collaborations with Portugal. The Man, GROUPLOVE, and Poolside. Lead single “Next Summer” sets the tone: frontman Max Kerman called it “a nod to the beauty and the mystery of what might lay ahead.” That kind of optimism plays well outdoors.
Support comes from The Maine, the Tempe, Arizona rock band who have spent close to two decades building their own path on their independent label, 8123.
About the Venue
Western New York summers have a handful of truly great outdoor settings, and Terminal B is one of them. Outer Harbor Live sits at 901 Fuhrmann Boulevard along Lake Erie — a 6,000-capacity outdoor event space and home to the Seneca Casinos Outer Harbor Live Concert Series, presented by Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino. The summer lineup has ranged from Slightly Stoopid to Violent Femmes to Taking Back Sunday, which gives you a sense of how wide the net gets. An August evening at the water, with a band this good, is the whole point.
