The most-awarded female gospel artist of all time comes to Albany on Wednesday, May 6. CeCe Winans brings the More Than This Tour to the Palace Theatre at 7:00 PM, as the northeastern spring leg of a 23-city run moves through its final dates.

About CeCe Winans

Born Priscilla Marie Winans in Detroit on October 8, 1964, she is one of ten children in the Winans family — a gospel dynasty that has shaped American sacred music for generations. She first broke through nationally as half of BeBe & CeCe Winans, the double-platinum duo whose crossover success proved that gospel could reach audiences far beyond the church. Her 1995 solo debut, Alone in His Presence, became only the third gospel album to sell more than a million units.

What followed is the kind of career that makes superlatives feel understated. Multiple Grammy Awards — more than any female gospel artist in the history of the award. Inductions into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Nashville’s Music City Walk of Fame. A crossover duet with Whitney Houston from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack that landed simultaneously on pop, R&B, and adult contemporary charts.

The current tour is built around More Than This, her 2024 live album on Puresprings Gospel — produced by Kyle Lee and recorded in Nashville with a full band capturing spontaneous worship moments. The album took Best Gospel Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards; “That’s My King” won Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. Combined with Believe For It, the two records have crossed one billion streams. Winans has topped Billboard’s Top Gospel Artists chart in back-to-back years. Her stated purpose for the tour is characteristically plain: “My heart for this tour is simple. I just want people to meet with Jesus.”

About the Palace Theatre

The Palace Theatre is Albany’s preeminent performing arts room — an A-list venue on the Albany / Capital District circuit that consistently draws national touring acts. A gospel evening at the Palace carries a particular weight. The audience arrives already knowing the words; what happens in that room tends to feel less like a concert and more like the thing itself.

Tickets & Pricing

Tickets range from $80 to $144 and are on sale now. The spring leg closes two days later at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse — the Albany date is one of the final northeastern stops on this run.
