South Burlington is a solid excuse for a fall road trip — and Chandler makes it an easy sell. The Newport News-raised, New York-based rapper plays the Showcase Lounge at Higher Ground on Monday, September 28. Doors open at 7 PM, show starts at 7:30, and this one is all ages.
About Chandler
If you have been on TikTok in the past couple of years, there is a good chance “FIGURE IT OUT” — his viral collaboration with producer Stafford Beats and rapper YNG Martyr — has already found your feed. Chandler started rapping in 2005, took a detour into theater and sketch comedy, and returned to music in 2021 with real momentum behind him. The background is eclectic: show choir as a kid, drumming in a Southern roots rock band, a stretch in New York doing acting work. His influences read like a 757 hall of fame — Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Pharrell, Pusha T, Clipse — but the sound he has built is very much his own.
The traction has been genuine. Over 25 million streams in the past year, close to a million TikTok followers, and a sold-out show at The Broadberry in Richmond in February 2025. This South Burlington date is part of a fall national run — coming off New Orleans, heading to New York City after this. These are not the tour stops of someone who is still figuring it out.
TuffLuckKid opens. If you know Chandler’s live show, you know TuffLuckKid — a regular collaborator who co-wrote “RUNAROUND” and “MAKE A MOVE.” Worth getting there by doors.
