Empire Live has built a reputation as Albany’s go-to room for acts that sell out before the local press covers them. On Sunday, November 15, it gets one of underground hip-hop’s most consequential names: Pouya, rolling through on The Foreverglades Tour.
About Pouya
Pouya — born Kevin Pouya in South Florida — came up in the Miami underground scene around 2011–2012, part of the wave of artists who turned SoundCloud into an actual career path before the industry knew what to do with them. His 2013 breakthrough “Get Buck” put him on the map with what one reviewer called “unrelenting and combative” lyricism, and he has been building that foundation into something bigger ever since.
His debut album Underground Underdog arrived in 2016, and the catalog that followed — including collaborations with Ghostemane, Denzel Curry, and Juicy J — cemented his place as one of the defining voices of his scene. The 2021 Ghostemane collaboration “1000 Rounds” went gold. His most recent release, They Could Never Make Me Hate You (2024), shows he is still evolving.
The Foreverglades Tour is a serious road trip — 34-plus cities from late September through December. Albany is the November 15 stop, one night after Pittsburgh and two nights before Boston. If you are in the Capital District, this is your window before the tour moves on.

Empire Live opened in fall 2021 at 93 N. Pearl Street in downtown Albany and has earned its place among the better mid-size rooms in the Albany / Capital District for this kind of show. The main room upstairs holds 1,000 people on a general admission floor — get there early and find your spot. It is a two-floor venue operated by Step Up Presents and SLP Concerts.
