Daft Disko is a touring French house and disco party built on one specific argument: that the Parisian club sound — Daft Punk, Stardust, Justice, Modjo, Giorgio Moroder — is not nostalgia. It’s a blueprint that producers are still drawing from, a body of music that still hits on a dance floor better than most of what came after it. The event brings that argument to The Song & Dance in Syracuse on Saturday, October 17, with 18+ admission starting at $0.00.
About the Show
Presented by After Dark Presents, Daft Disko runs as a curated dance night rather than a conventional concert with a headlining act. No single DJ is billed by name; the pull is the playlist, built from 40-plus French house, disco, and electronic artists designed as an immersive dance experience. The inspirations cover the full width of the genre: Breakbot, Flight Facilities, Disclosure, Purple Disco Machine, Cassius, Kavinsky, Chic, Phoenix, Boys Noize, Duck Sauce, and Soulwax all figure into the mix alongside the Daft Punk–Justice axis. The playlist spans from classic disco and French touch through contemporary electronic production, making the room as likely to land on Chic as it is on Boys Noize. Described as “a full-bodied celebration of a sound that shaped a generation,” the event channels “shimmering synths and propulsive basslines” rooted in Parisian club culture, the production aesthetic that French house carried globally and that contemporary acts have been quietly reviving.
After Dark Presents runs Daft Disko as part of a broader event philosophy: experiential dance nights that combine themed atmospheres, DJ performances, and high-energy crowd engagement into something designed to feel like an event rather than a set. The series is active nationally through the end of 2026 — Vivid Seats lists 17 shows running September through December, spanning California cities, Halloween-themed markets, and a December Portland finale. Syracuse is one of several mid-sized stops on that circuit.
