John Summit at Centre Bell | October 23, 2026

By Eli Thorne · July 19, 2026

John Summit makes house and techno, but the story defining him right now is the one built into CTRL ESCAPE: he spent years working as a certified public accountant, posting music production tutorials on YouTube at night, until DJing took over entirely. The sophomore album dropped on Tax Day (April 15, 2026) with artwork showing him punching through office ceiling tiles. Not subtle. Not trying to be. The 20-city CTRL ESCAPE Arena Tour brings that record to Centre Bell in Montreal on Friday, October 23.

About the Show

This is Summit’s first full arena tour: 20 shows across the US and Canada, October 1 through December 4, 2026. The Montreal date is presented by ÏLLESONIQ, the city’s well-known electronic music festival brand. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., show at 7:00 p.m. No support acts are listed.

Summit described CTRL ESCAPE as “a kind of a crazy, artistic journey” and has promised the tour will deliver “a new production concept… creating a larger-than-life atmosphere and immersive experience for this next era.” The Chicago producer built toward this run through a relentless stretch of festival appearances: EDC Las Vegas, Breakaway Festival in Atlanta, a nearly five-hour set at Red Rocks Amphitheater, a surprise appearance at Coachella’s DoLab stage during Weekend 1. He founded Experts Only Records, his own label and events brand, around a philosophy he calls “music without limits.” The label grew alongside a YouTube channel where Summit taught music production, the same channel he was running while still working as an accountant.

Summit put the album’s central theme plainly in a promotional statement: “I love being able to share my story of breaking out of the matrix that is the corporate life.” With 500 million-plus Spotify streams and over 7 million monthly listeners, the story is landing. That arena step, joining the tier occupied by Tiësto and Kaskade, reads as the logical conclusion of a run that has been building for years.
