Daniel Caesar at Centre Bell | August 6, 2026

By Tanya Reeves · July 19, 2026

There is a particular kind of R&B that carries the church inside it, in the phrasing and the restraint and the places it reaches for emotionally, whether the listener recognizes the source or not. Daniel Caesar has always made that kind of music. Son of Spergy, his fourth studio album, makes the lineage explicit: the title is his father’s nickname, a man who once sang in Jamaica’s tourism industry before crossing to Canada to broadcast gospel for a Seventh-day Adventist television network. The music and the faith and the inheritance all live in that album title. On August 6, Caesar brings the Son of Spergy Tour to Centre Bell.

About the Show

This is Caesar’s first headlining arena tour: 30 dates across Asia and North America from May through August 2026, a considerable step from the Superpowers World Tour he ran in 2023. The Ontario-born artist (given name Ashton Simmonds) left his Seventh-day Adventist household as a teenager, couch-surfing through Toronto while building the songs that would become Freudian in 2017. Since then: a Grammy for Best R&B Performance on “Best Part” (feat. H.E.R.), a Republic Records deal in 2022, a credit on Justin Bieber’s No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 debut “Peaches,” contributions to Tyler, The Creator’s Chromakopia, and the 2026 International Achievement Award at the Juno Awards, presented by collaborator Mustafa.

Son of Spergy, released in 2025, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, his highest-charting album to date. The standout track “Who Knows” earned Caesar two Juno Awards: Songwriter of the Year and Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year. He has described the album as “more guitar based and songwriter-y,” with gospel running through its foundation. It was built across sessions in Oracabessa, Jamaica; Paris; and Electric Lady Studios in New York, with collaborators including Sampha, Yebba, Dev Hynes of Blood Orange, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, and Clairo. “I almost feel like I’m starting again — and I love it,” Caesar said. 070 Shake joins as support on the Canadian leg of the tour.
