DJ Sneak at Higher Ground | May 24, 2026

By Meg Andersen · May 24, 2026

There is a Sunday night series in South Burlington that has been running — with format shifts and schedule changes — since 1998. Sunday Night Mass, presented by Nexus Artists and Higher Ground, has been called the longest-lasting electronic music series in the Northeast United States, and it keeps going because the people behind it book the real ones. On Sunday, May 24, that means bringing one of Chicago house music’s genuine architects to the Higher Ground Ballroom.

About DJ Sneak

Born Carlos Sosa in Puerto Rico and raised in Chicago from 1983, DJ Sneak developed his sound through the city’s underground warehouse scene, drawing on house music’s earliest pioneers. His disco-filtered house grooves — refined through releases on Cajual and Relief Records — helped set a blueprint that artists like Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, and Armand Van Helden have openly credited as an influence. He founded Defiant Records in the early ’90s, launched All World Entertainment as a booking agency for Chicago and Canadian talent, and started Magnetic Recordings in 2001 to develop emerging artists while pushing the genre forward. He is based in Los Angeles now, but you can still hear the warehouse in every set.

Supporting Sneak is Kelly Reverb out of Dallas — founder of Lone Star Records and a former member of Southside Reverb — who has logged over 1.3 million Spotify streams and headlined dates in Ibiza, Mexico City, Toronto, and Burning Man in the last twelve months. Local support rounds out what is already a stacked card: Vetica (No Fun Intended), Philthaay b2b Mitch Almond (Aquatic Underground), and Cheetatah (Rocking Life).
