Gypsy Queen at Buffalo Iron Works | September 18, 2026

By Meg Andersen · August 5, 2026

Gypsy Queen doesn’t come at the catalogs of Heart and Fleetwood Mac through costumes or theatrical staging. Their approach is what the band calls “exact musical replication” — a commitment to the source material that has built them into a well-established tribute act on the Western New York circuit. The ensemble plays Buffalo Iron Works in Buffalo on Friday, September 18.

About the Show

The band’s case starts with dual vocalists Carolyn Daniels and Leah Pinnavaia, whose harmonies have been described as blending “like that of the Wilson sisters,” a comparison to Ann and Nancy Wilson that speaks to the technical demands of Heart’s catalog and what it takes to meet them. The backing lineup includes John Daniels and Scott Helfrich on guitars, Chris Rizzo on keyboards, Tim O’Connell on drums, and John Caruso on bass and vocals, musicians drawn from established WNY acts including PassionWorks, Reset to Vinyl, and Acoustria, bringing more than 40 years of combined regional experience to material that demands it.

The approach — exact replication over costume and theatrics — means the focus falls on the arrangements themselves: the guitar interplay, the keyboard fills, the layered harmonies that make these songs land in a live room. Both Fleetwood Mac and Heart built catalogs that reward exactly that kind of attention.

The set covers both catalogs. Fleetwood Mac’s side means the atmospheric rock of the ’70s and ’80s, built on harmony and texture. Heart’s material runs harder — guitar-forward, rhythm-section-driven, the kind of rock that fills a club room when played at volume. The band has adopted the tagline “They’re going to go CRAZY ON YOU!” for good reason. Gypsy Queen has worked this material out across regular bookings throughout the region, including Buffalo RiverWorks, The Caz, The Cave, Sportsmen’s Tavern, summer concerts in Dunkirk, and venues into Orchard Park. Western New York press has described them as an “award-winning dual tribute.”

Venue & Logistics

Buffalo Iron Works is a 500-capacity club at 49 Illinois Street in Buffalo. A full ensemble with two lead vocalists needs a stage that can hold them, and at 500 caps the crowd stays close enough that the harmonies land right. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.; the show begins at 8:00 p.m. This is an 18+ event.
