Staind at Darien Lake Amphitheater | September 19, 2026

By Rachel Torrey · April 30, 2026

Twenty-five years is a long time to sit with an album. When Break the Cycle arrived in May 2001, it sold more than 716,000 copies in its first week, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, and turned Staind from a hard-touring New England act into one of the defining voices of post-grunge. This fall, the band is taking the record back out on the road — not as nostalgia, but as formal acknowledgment. The Darien Lake Amphitheater date falls on Saturday, September 19, with direct support from Seether and special guests Hoobastank and Hinder.

About Staind

Formed in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1995, Staind spent the late ’90s grinding through the Northeast club circuit before their major-label debut, Dysfunction (1999), put them on the national map. Break the Cycle, released May 8, 2001 on Elektra Entertainment and produced by Josh Abraham, was the leap. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, held that position for three weeks, and reached the top of the charts in multiple countries. The RIAA has since certified it 5x Platinum — Staind’s most commercially successful release to date.

The album’s lead single, “It’s Been Awhile,” spent a then-record 16 weeks at #1 on the Modern Rock chart and 20 weeks atop the Mainstream Rock chart, climbing to #5 on the Hot 100. Frontman Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok remain at the core of the lineup; original drummer Jon Wysocki departed in 2011 and was replaced by Sal Giancarelli. The band returned with Confessions of the Fallen in 2023. Whether the anniversary run will include a full album front-to-back remains unconfirmed — Live Nation’s announcement frames the tour as a celebration of the record without specifying the format.

“25 years later to be touring, celebrating this album and bringing our music to our fans near and far is something really special,” Lewis said at the announcement. “It’s like one big family reunion.”

About Darien Lake Amphitheater

The Darien Lake Amphitheater in Darien Center sits about 30 miles east of Buffalo, a 21,600-capacity shed that anchors the Western New York summer season with the full spectrum of major touring rock, country, and pop packages. It’s the right scale for this billing — a four-act stack of turn-of-the-millennium rock that pulls fans from across the region. The lawn is the move here; bring something to sit on and budget time for the parking crawl out. Doors open at 6:00 PM.
