There is a certain logic to pairing Lynyrd Skynyrd and Foreigner on a co-headline bill, and it runs deeper than booking convenience. Both are Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Both carry catalogs dense enough to fill an evening with songs the audience already knows. The Double Trouble Double Vision Tour brings them to SPAC on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at 6:30 PM, with Southern rock outfit Six Gun Sally opening across all 19 dates of the North American run.
About Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s origin story — Jacksonville, Florida, 1964; Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama ascending to the American classic rock canon; the 1977 plane crash that killed founder Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines; a decade of disbandment followed by a 1987 reunion with Ronnie’s younger brother Johnny Van Zant assuming lead vocals — is one of rock’s most complicated survival narratives. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. The band remains an active touring unit; they played the New York State Fair in Syracuse as recently as August 2025, and there is no indication of pulling back.
About Foreigner
Foreigner marks their 50th anniversary year in 2026 — a milestone for a band that defined arena rock through the late ’70s and ’80s. Mick Jones assembled the original Anglo-American lineup in New York in 1976, including King Crimson alumnus Ian McDonald and Rochester-born vocalist Lou Gramm, and what followed was seven consecutive platinum-or-better albums and more than 50 million records sold worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. Readers should note that the current touring lineup features Luis Maldonado on lead vocals; if Lou Gramm’s voice is the specific draw, he has separate December dates at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.

A late-August evening at SPAC carries a quality that indoor venues simply cannot replicate, and an A-list co-headline pairing is precisely what a room of this scale was built for.
