Pawling sits right on Route 22, deep in Hudson Valley country, and Daryl’s House is the reason to go. It is a 300-capacity club — the kind of room where you can actually see the artist’s face, hear every note, and feel like you caught something special. On Friday, November 13, Marshall Crenshaw plays there with special guest Sarah Borges. Doors at 5:00 PM, show at 8:00. All ages.
About Marshall Crenshaw
Crenshaw has been doing this for over four decades and he has not gotten less interesting. His 1982 debut is a genuine power pop classic — “Someday, Someway” cracked the Top 40, and the album still holds up the way only a handful of records from that era do. He went on to release 13 albums total, earn Grammy and Golden Globe nominations, co-write a Top Ten single for the Gin Blossoms, and play Buddy Holly in La Bamba. These days he hosts “The Bottomless Pit,” his weekly radio show on WFUV, and is working on a documentary about legendary producer Tom Wilson. He was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2014. In a 300-seat room, that resume hits differently.
About Sarah Borges
Borges is not a name to sleep on. A multi Boston Music Award winner with nearly two decades in the game, she is a rock and roll singer who navigates between blues and hard country like she owns the territory. Her 2022 album Together Alone — her eighth record, produced by Eric “Roscoe” Ambel — is the kind of record that earns a room’s attention fast. Be there when doors open at 5:00.
