Pentatonix has made a habit of Albany — SPAC in 2023, MVP Arena in 2024, and now MVP Arena again on November 29, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, which has become as reliable a holiday-season opener for this market as any date on the calendar. Three stops in three years. The Capital Region has voted, and the group keeps honoring the result.
About the Show
The Christmas In The City Tour runs 28 arena dates across North America from November 5 through December 22, 2026, supporting the deluxe edition of Pentatonix’s 2025 album of the same name, a project inspired by the festive energy of New York City. The expanded release, due October 30, adds 10 new songs, two covers, and seven live recordings to the original 16-track album, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and featured collaborations with Meghan Trainor, Lea Salonga, and The King’s Singers. The new single “Get Happy / Happy Days Are Here Again” frames the holiday repertoire through the jazz era of classic Hollywood. “We love this iconic mashup,” Kirstin Maldonado said, “and it fits perfectly into our homage to the classic Christmas tunes of Hollywood’s Golden Age.” Pentatonix won Season 3 of NBC’s The Sing-Off in 2011 and have since accumulated three Grammy Awards, including the first Grammy ever awarded to an a cappella act in the Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella category; the current lineup of Mitch Grassi, Maldonado, Scott Hoying, beatboxer Kevin Olusola, and Matt Sallee carries that credential into arenas that have grown, if anything, more receptive to what they do. Christmas In The City is their 13th studio album and eighth holiday release, accounting for more than half their studio catalog. VIP packages include a mini pre-show performance, a Q&A session, autographed merchandise, and access to the Pentatonix Winter Village. The show is all ages. On select tour dates, ticket buyers can support Save The Music, a nonprofit focused on music education in U.S. schools.
