Empire Underground sits below the main floor at Empire Live on North Pearl Street in Albany — and if you have not caught a show down there yet, a Tuesday night in late September with Thousand Below is a pretty good reason to fix that. This is a 500-cap club show with a post-hardcore band on a headlining tour behind a new record. That combination tends to go well.
About Thousand Below
Thousand Below is a San Diego-based post-hardcore outfit fronted by vocalist James Deberg, with guitarist Josh Thomas and drummer Max Santoro. Their fourth studio album, Buried In Jade, dropped June 8, 2026 — their first full-length since Hell Finds You Everywhere in 2022. CaliberTV awarded it an 8.5/10 and called it “a massive step up from the previous record,” while Livesphere Magazine said it “cements Thousand Below’s place among the genre’s most compelling voices.” The record blends emotionally charged lyrics with heavy riffs and atmospheric textures — themes of grief, resilience, and transformation that hit differently when you are in a room this size.
The Albany date is part of the Buried In Jade Fall 2026 Headlining Tour, running September 12 through October 11. The tour moves through the Northeast in the final days of September, with Albany feeding directly into a Syracuse date the following night. Support from Acres, VCTMS, and Lost In Separation on select dates.
Empire Underground
Empire Underground is the downstairs room at Empire Live, 93 N. Pearl Street in downtown Albany — a 500-capacity club in the heart of the city. For post-hardcore, a room this size is close to ideal: the energy concentrates, and you are never far from the stage regardless of where you land. Doors at 7:30 PM.
Tickets
Tickets go on sale Friday, June 12. This is a headlining tour behind a record that critics are calling their best work yet — do not wait on it.
